It's been a while since I have really sat down and blogged about my healthy living journey and a lot of new things have happened in my life following my last post. I am still on Weight Watchers, although lately I have been falling off the wagon (i.e. eating whatever I want, whenever I want, and as much as I want). But the days that this happens are very few and far in between. Social gathering are the hardest. My friends and I do happy hour at Gloria's in north Dallas and they have the best chips, salsa, and bean dip, not to mention the food is GREAT and their margaritas are the best. The longer we sit and mingle, the more drinks arrive at our table along with fresh chips.
Of course the holidays are hard too. I decided for Labor Day to throw a BBQ at my place and even though the chicken was not that many points, the potato salad, chips, oreos, cake, and baked beans added so many points that it took some from my weekly stash. Not to mention the alcohol. I had to stop counting points around 5pm that day because I was just getting frustrated. The one thing I love about this journey is "forgiveness." I never punish myself for eating bad things. I take note, remember how good it was, and then jump back on. I'm human, and I love oreo cookies, and I eat chocolate heavily one time a month (ugh), and I'm not the type of girl to turn down a drink or two. But I'm disciplined enough to know when to cut my portions down in half, to make sure I get up early to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio, and to stay within my daily allowed WW points.
This is by far one of my biggest challenges I have had to face, but I'm up for it...
Til the next time (very soon)....
